About Mae…

I am a woman in my 30’s who is, thankfully, far from perfect! God is my rock, Jesus is my savior. I married my high school sweetheart and hero. We have three incredible, beautiful daughters. My family is my life and most important work. My parents are my support. My best girl friends are the threads that keep me together. We live with the coolest Great Dane in the world and one very crazy cat! I like to put my thoughts on paper. I like to read others thoughts on paper. Coffee is my friend. I enjoy cutting up several big pieces of fabric into hundreds of small pieces and sewing them all back together into one big piece of fabric, commonly known as a quilt. I enjoy swimming in a freezing cold lake, getting out of the water  to bike down a long road and then finishing with a long run ending with a crowd of cheering people. Music is in my soul and moves me deeply. I can’t drink more then one glass of champagne without gettin’ all tipsy. Cooking is an art that I regularly practice. The substance I abuse is water. Dreams are for winners. This blog is the first step to my biggest dream of all, to be a writer who will hopefully have a New York Times best seller someday…I will strive for it.

Perfectness is overrated. Progress is the key. With Progress you are encouraged. With Perfectness you are continually disappointed. Serendipities come to those who keep it real and learn from life’s challenges. Brokeness and heartache follow those who try too hard, they always give up in the end. Bad stuff happens, it’s what you choose to do with it that makes you a champion or a loser. Strive for Progress was started because I am guilty of striving for perfection and never getting anywhere but down. You have to live in the moment, say good bye to the past and dream about the future. I hope you enjoy this blog and please leave me feedback, it does matter. You, my readers, are my motivation and the reason I write…

A few quotes I strive to live by…

“Be willing to change yourself and understand you can’t change others.” ~unknown

“You won’t know everything until you can admit that you don’t know everything.” ~Mae
