HTCI Step 9 & 10…

I am now through the first part of THCI. I am very excited to start my organizing journey. The biggest success I have had so far is that I have NOT dug into my house and started cleaning/organizing yet. The reason that is a success is because I have forced myself to really read and follow what Mindy Starns Clark has written. She wrote the first part to help you gain understanding as to why your house is out of control, to help you understand how you can change the way your house flows. The first part of the book helps you to see where your problem areas are so you can keep that in mind when you move forward into the actual work of it all and that this time your house really CAN work for you.

Step 9

This step talks evaluates what kind of house keeper you are and will help you figure out an estimate on how long the conversion from your house to the HTCI system will take. I fell into the middle. This is what it says about my house cleaning…

“You’re in good company; most people’s scores fall in this range. You have some natural ability and some knowledge. Your home is satisfactorily clean at least some of the time. As you work through this book, keep an open mind about how you can make a good thing even better.” ~THCI by Mindy Starns Clark

And this is what she says about how long it should take me…

“Converting your home to the HTCI System could take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months.” ~THCI by Mindy Starns Clark

My score and time gives me much hope. I am looking forward to purging, cleaning and organizing this new house of ours. I am excited to really make it OURS. She talks about finding a reason to be motivated to keep your house going and finishing the conversion. My motivation is YOU. I want to show you that it can be done so that you can do it too.

Step 10

This is another step that is a very personal idea. She talks about setting up a personal devotion area so you can spend time and meditate. I know this is a very personal issue but I will tell you what I did with mine. I have my Bible, prayer journal, highlighter, pens, notebook, devotionals in a box in my office and I do my devotions on the couch in my bedroom. I really got out of the habit of committing some time to God when we moved and I had my last baby so I am now trying to re-commit that time with Him and find consistency there.

Onward and Forward

Well the time to start organizing has finally come! I am very excited about it. I am going to be on vacation soon and will have to put it on hold till May. I will do some different features on Fridays in April so stay tuned. I hope you have a fabulous day!

~Mae

Inspiring!!! I organized and cleaned the kids’ bathroom today in preparation for them to take over the cleaning of what we call the “kids’ zone”. I’ll do the same with their rooms and teach them how to keep it that way. Training, training, training. It never ends, but I’m looking forward to the results.
