I am super EXCITED about this post! I am always looking at different ways to do menu planning and cooking. Mike thinks I spend to much time on it but what he doesn’t realize is that it’s a hobby for me. It is very enjoyable for me to figure out how to piece menus together and follow them with ease. Recently I came across a blog named “Once A Month Mom” it gives FREE monthly menus to use for freezing a month full of meals, breakfast, lunch and dinner! I am super excited about this. I have wanted to try monthly meal freezing for a very long time now. I tried it once when my oldest was still in my belly. I made a bunch of freezer meals but most of them ended up a “fail” I did not know how to freeze them and cook them from frozen/thawed correctly. Now there is so much information on the net on how to do freeze planning that I am feeling more then confident to try it again! The idea behind it is that you take one day and cook it all, freeze it all and you are done for the month. There may be a few days during your month that you will still enjoy cooking, dining out or having leftovers. The nights you do not have time to do those things you will be grateful for a freezer full of food instead of a list full of take out numbers. You will notice, if you go look at the site, that there are only so many meals per month. They have a great way of explaining this on their FAQ page, here is a tidbit…
“Usually there are 30-31 days in any given month. This amount gives you a meal for every other day. There are several reasons we don’t plan a meal for EVERY day:
- We often have a church function or gathering with friends – no meal needed.
- We have leftovers from the other meals.
- We do still go out to dinner somewhere every so often.
- I LIKE to cook and don’t NEED to use the meals every night.” ~Once A Month Mom

What a wonderful post Mae! I’m so happy the menus work for you.
Yes thank you so much for the great site!
This great little blog post made me think of your meal planning and what a Godly thing it is to do. And, yet again, I am inspired to plan my meals a bit better. http://www.illinoislori.blogspot.com/
