So the other night I decided to use some strawberry patch bounty and rhubarb from our yard to make a delicious rhubarb strawberry pie! The pie turned out amazing! I was afraid that the bottom of my crust might get soggy, it ALWAYS gets soggy! I decided to try an experiment that worked PERFECTLY! The bottom crust was the best I have ever had! Thick, baked perfectly with the most amazing texture! Are you ready for this? It’s SOOOO SIMPLE! Before you place your crust in your pie pan take some shortening and lightly grease the pan then take flour and dust the entire plate. Put your crust in the plate and put 1-2 tbsp of flour on top of the crust being sure that you have dusted the entire top of the bottom crust, THEN put your filling on top of that. OH MY GOODNESS YUM YUM! I am telling you this was so awesome I going bake another pie tonight just try it again! PLEASE try this and come back and tell me in the comments below if it worked for you! Enjoy!
