SMOOTHIES!! You asked and now I am delivering! You want smoothie recipes and I have them! Apparently my smoothies are so good that my kids made up a new word for them, “Tastalicious” (say taste - delicious really fast!) I am going to start a small smoothie series, I’ll post 2-4 new smoothies recipes a month. It will end when I either run out of ideas or they start sounding repetitive HAHA!
Today’s smoothies are…
Chocolate Coconut Smoothie
This is the smoothie I drink almost everyday for lunch. The base is chocolate Shakeology. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!
- 1 cup coconut milk (like So Delicious)
- 1 scoop chocolate Shakeology powder
- 1 banana
- 1 Tbsp nut butter (I like both peanut and almond)
- 1-2 cups ice
I start by adding the milk, then powder. I usually add the powder while my Vitamix is on the lowest speed so I do not get any clumps or powder stuck to the side of the container. I then add the banana, nut butter and ice. Whiz up. The ice makes it a milk shake consistency. I love it! This shake lasts me about four hours, it’s all I “eat” for lunch. Try it!!! Mae’s Sweet Berry Smoothie
This is one of the kids favorite smoothies! Enjoy!
- 2 stems of kale
- 2 bananas
- 1/4 – 1/2 cup flaked coconut
- 1/2 cup raspberries
- 1/2 cup blueberries
- 1 cup coconut milk (like So Delicious)
- 1 Tbsp nut butter (like almond or peanut)
- 1 Tbsp honey
- 1 – 2 cups ice
I hope you have enjoyed my first smoothie post! Please let me know what you think of them when you try them. I also want to know what you like to put into your smoothies. Tell me in a comment below!

YUM!! The chocolate coconut one looks fantastic. I love new smoothie ideas. My family does smoothies and popcorn every Saturday night. It’s nice to have some new ideas.
I am so happy you are on board! Please tell me what you did and did not like when trying these!
Oh and what a clever idea the jar with screw on lid as a spill proof cup! Love and am going to steal that idea!
Yes I found that idea “The Spunky Coconut” I will post a link above!
Looks good Mae. I’ll have to try the kids one for the boys. Not sure about your Skakeology additive though. I like to use all fresh natural ingredients in ours. I do, fresh whole milk, with a little bit of extra cream added, and egg or two, then add in what ever fruit you like, we like, bannanas, blueberries, strawberries, peaches. I have also started juicing some also, and will also throw some of that in the shake or drink it straight. The boys love it, and you can hide or whole bunch of “evil greens” in it. Can’t wait to see some of your other ideas.
I know your not to interested in vitamins so you may not like the Shakeology. I am pretty careful about what we take in and do not like processed foods. I am impressed with the source and the ingredients with the Shakeology. It’s one of the only ways I am comfortable taking in green alge because I can’t taste it! lol For those interested I strongly suggest going and looking at the ingredients I was impressed.
I LOVE hiding the “greens” in the drinks as well! I’ll keep more coming, I have a “pina coloda” one I am working on! YUM YUM YUMMY!
Thanks for stopping by!
I stopped by the websight earlier, Looks pretty good there are just one or two things I am not really sure of. I’ll have to check into them more. I’d also be interested if they are using whole ingredients or just partials and whether or not their vitamins are synthic or not. I didn’t see anything right off the bat in my quick search. I am not totally agaisnt. Just want to look into it a bit more. I tend to be very careful when it comes to taking in anything that has been processed. That’s why I tend to be a little cautious.
Sure I totally undertand
Let me know if you see something I over looked. The chocolate coconut smoothie is the only one I use with the Shakeology. All the others ones are whole ingredients.
