Get up and MOVE!
Sometimes when I’m in a funk I think it’s because I am tired so I end up reaching for another cup of coffee. Once the buzz hits and I am still unmotivated I realize that the lack of motivation wasn’t from being tired, it was from lack of movement!
That might sound a bit too simple but sometimes it’s those little funks we get into that start us on a spiral of feeling bad about our day, frustrated about not getting enough done, or even depression.
Here is my cure for the “stuck” feeling.
Take a deep breath.
Get up and do a quick chore.
Need an idea? Pick up some toys, put a stack of papers away, do a load of dishes or laundry, or make your bed.
Are you in your car waiting at sports practice or a music lesson? I’ve got you covered! Clean some trash out, organize the dirty clothes or old mail in your car so you can quickly take that stuff inside when you get home.
The point is to do something simple and productive right now to get your heart pumping.
(This might seem small and insignificant. Trust the process!)
Take another deep breath.
Now you are up and ready to progress forward!
