As I walked the streets of NYC alone, surrounded by eight and a half million other people, I couldn’t help but notice how ironically lonely I felt.
Sure there were others standing, walking, sitting next to me but it was almost as if I was completely invisible. It was one of the most isolating feelings I have ever experienced.
During the moment I felt alone, slightly depressed and aimless. I didn’t know where to go so I just kept walking. I love New York City so I felt comforted by the sites, smells and sounds and allowed the experience to seep deeply into my soul.
Looking back at that night I can see myself wandering next to these millions of souls and the one thing my heart aches for is this..
Do they feel loved?
There is a certain stigma I believe the city gives off like nobody cares, everyone for themselves, and no one is friendly. I find this to be far from the truth…
Yes, while I wandered down the sidewalks I never had anyone smile at me or strike up a conversation with me. But when I smiled at others or went into a store and talked to others they lit up.
I’ve been to many cities and I will tell you the friendliest I have been to has been NYC.
Yet as I wandered the city walking through the flow of people on the sidewalks, being a silent observer, I couldn’t help but wonder if the people surrounding me felt loved. It was hard to tell since they were all on a mission to get to one place or another.
Do they have someone to go home to that loves them? Do they have friends that cherish how they feel? Do they have a place to feel comforted?
The answer…
Yes. They do. Regardless of if they are the person finding shelter in the bank’s ATM vestibule, or they are the high society socialite riding in her limo down Madison. They are all loved. Very, very loved.
Do they all feel loved? Do they know they are loved? I don’t know. But what I know for certain is that they are 100% whole-heartedly loved.
And. So. Are. You.
Jesus loves all of us!
The isolation I felt, as I walked along the concrete jungle, I will never regret or forget. I believe it was a deep heart-shifting isolation I needed to feel. And it reminded me of someone…
Jesus. Maybe I felt a bit lost and lonely on the streets of Manhattan, but it is nothing that compares to the isolation Jesus felt and went through for us. He was completely separated from God for three whole days.
The Father of the universe, the Creator of our souls, the One who breathes life into us, had to completely remove Himself from His only begotten son so that YOU and I could be saved and live an eternal life with Him in heaven!
THAT means no one on this planet EVER has to live isolated and alone. We all have the ability to feel loved, special and very much WITH someone. With God.
During my lonely moments wandering the city, deep down I knew I was not alone. I was VERY much present with a being truly worth being present with…
The Holy Spirit lives in me and he lives in you if you’ve accepted Jesus as your savior.
Because of this, we will never really be lonely. We will never ever have to feel the heartbreaking, empty, deeply scary isolation of being alone because Jesus went through that for us so that we never have to walk our life journey alone.
Jesus lives inside of us and we can feel the love and the presence of God inside of us, just by asking Him to shine His love into our lives.
Have you ever felt alone, unloved or lonely?
My first question is…
Have you asked Jesus into your heart? Have you asked Him to forgive you for your sins and told Him you accept him as your savior?
If you have not or are unsure if you have please Click Here to go to a very safe and non-denominational Biblical site that will share more about what it means to accept Jesus as your savior.
My second question is…
If you are feeling lonely and you HAVE accepted Jesus as your savior, how are you cultivating a relationship with Him?
When you have a strong connection with Jesus you never feel lonely because you are in continual communication with him!
And just as in any relationship you must take time to cultivate that relationship with Him. My best suggestion is to get up early and spend time with Him. It sets your day off right!

My prayer, dream, and hope is that you, mama, feel loved, not alone, and at peace with where you are at in your life’s journey.
I’ve felt the isolation of feeling alone and I don’t mean wandering the streets of NYC. I mean the deep isolation of being a stay at home mom with little ones. Feeling as if I had no purpose and life was just spinning out of control while the social media world made me feel less of a person and more of a useless soul to society…
I’ve felt the desperation of needing to feel loved, important and as if I was somebody.
It wasn’t until I started to connect with Jesus daily that I realized I am somebody who is loved, important and has a whole lot of purpose in this world (which included but is not limited to being a wife and mother)…
And you too are somebody who is loved, important and has a huge purpose in this world!
You are loved. Fill yourself with Jesus daily so that you can share His light with others and share the message that they are loved too!
To be loved… it’s what every soul craves.
You are loved. You are enough. You have a purpose. Because…
Jesus said so. And that is enough.
